Tarka Project Presents
In the subcontinental regions of South Asia, Melas are vibrant, festive gatherings pulsing with community and unique energy. On September 20th, Tarka brings that energy to Brooklyn, taking over The Meadows, an indoor/outdoor space in Bushwick, for a full day of live bands, DJ sets, games, and highly curated vendors you won't find anywhere else.
Wander indoors for old-school games like Ludo and Snakes & Ladders, check out music by record label Bilna'es, connect with community social justice organizations, and enjoy live music from Mehrnam Rastegari and Saudi-American rapper Nory. Then head outside in the open air for music by DJs Disconesia and Arjun Shah, treat yourself to henna, tarot, and human design readings with a cup of chai. Feast on specialty foods, shop jewelry and cosmetics, and then head back inside for dancing to music by ZEM, DJ Fatin, and Zara Dekho & Dynoman.
