High Time is a Brooklyn-born Grateful Dead tribute band celebrated for their unique reinterpretation of the Dead’s early catalog. In 2024, High Time members Michael O'Neill and Kevin Uehlinger started an acoustic event series at LPR known as "Season of What." The group not only performed favorites from the Grateful Dead’s classic acoustic songbook such as Jack-A-Roe and Dire Wolf, but also distinguished itself by channeling the intensity of more expansive works like The Eleven and Terrapin Station in an acoustic format, transforming expectations while preserving the music’s spirit of exploration.
For this event, tables will be cleared to make room on the dance floor for an electric set from Bushwick's Dead, a dynamic collective of NYC jam musicians who infuse their unique style into the timeless tunes of the Grateful Dead and more. Founded by Chris Mackin, Bushwick’s Dead has become a staple of the city's vibrant music scene, with an ongoing residency at Brooklyn Bowl. With a rotating lineup of talented musicians, each show offers a fresh and exciting interpretation of beloved classics.
A third and very special set will feature both groups in an ensemble jam!
DJ Eat Records spins between sets and a variety of vendors will fill out the front room for the marketplace we've all come to know as Shakedown Street.
